Pastor Allen C. Overton, Sr.’s life reflects profound service, leadership, and community dedication. His multifaceted
roles in both the church and the broader community demonstrate his unwavering commitment to faith, activism, and
social justice - especially in his beloved hometown of Flint, Michigan.
Education:
His academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary, where he laid the foundation for his ministry. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. Pastor Overton has also studied at Mott Community College and Ashland Theological Seminary, combining formal theological training with practical ministry and leadership experience.
Church Leadership:
For more than two decades, Pastor Overton has faithfully led God’s people. He has served as Pastor of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for over seven years, during which he oversaw significant renovations and improvements -investments exceeding $350,000 - to strengthen the church’s infrastructure and mission. In addition to his pastoral duties, he serves as Moderator of the Great Lakes Baptist District Association, 1st Vice President at Large of the Wolverine State Missionary Baptist Convention, Inc., and 1st Vice President of the Moderators Division of the National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Overton is a tireless advocate for social change. He serves on the Executive Committee of
the NAACP Flint Branch and continues to be a vocal activist in addressing the Flint Water Crisis. As a member of the
National Resources Defense Council, he is deeply committed to issues of environmental justice and community health.
Military Service:
Pastor Overton honorably served in the United States Army, earning multiple awards and commendations before receiving an Honorable Discharge at the completion of his service.
Fraternity and Civic Engagement:
In 2024, Pastor Overton became a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., expanding his network of faith-
based and civic leaders. His leadership across multiple Baptist conventions and community organizations underscores
his regional and national influence.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Pastor Overton’s life is grounded in family and mentorship. He is married to Melissa Overton, Senior Vice President and Regional Community Development Director at Huntington National Bank. Together, they share a strong partnership in both faith and community service. Rev. Overton is the proud father of four children, grandfather to six grandchildren, and a mentor to many.
